"Splines and PDEs: Recent Advances from Approximation Theory to Structured Numerical Linear Algebra"
will be held in Cetraro (Italy), at the Grand Hotel S. Michele, during the week July 3-7, 2017.
The school will cover the most advanced mathematical developments and numerical tools originating in the numerical treatment of PDEs based on spline functions. It addresses relevant topics in approximation theory, numerical linear algebra and isogeometric analysis.
- Adaptive multiscale methods for the numerical treatment of PDEs(Angela Kunoth, University of Cologne)
- Basics on splines with a special focus on local refinement (Tom Lyche, University of Oslo)
- GLT matrices and spectral symbol: a mathematical environment for spectral analysis and fast solvers for linear systems arising from the discretization of ntegro/differential problems (Stefano Serra-Capizzano, University of Insubria)
- Isogeometric analysis: foundations, developments and applications (Giancarlo Sangalli, University of Pavia).
The application deadline is April 30, 2017. There are no registration fees. Moreover, PhD students and junior postdocs may request for CIME grants to cover local accommodation costs.
